The Charitable Side of Gaudio

We like to consider ourselves an ethical, charitable bunch, here at Gaudio. It’s important to us to do our bit, to give back and to help others, which is why we love the opportunity to produce charity awards. It’s not about getting recognition for us – we’re in a fortunate position of being able to help, and the work that charities and not-for-profit organisations do is so important that we feel they should be able to devote as much of their fund-raising as possible towards the causes they support. Equally, however, those fundraisers who work tirelessly to raise vital funds for their causes deserve recognition and reward for this, and that is where we come in.

For many years, Gaudio has been the official trophy supplier for Bloodwise (formerly Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research). This is a cause close to the heart of Gaudio’s managing director, Adam Hutchinson, after losing a childhood friend to cancer at just fourteen years old. Says Adam, “when we received an enquiry from Bloodwise to produce some awards, I leapt on the opportunity to supply the awards. It was a very personal thing to me to be able to help this charity.”

We were recently asked to recognise the teams behind the One Love Manchester benefit concert. The organisers felt the teams behind the event deserved special recognition for all the work they put in to organising the sell-out event.

The event teams had to co-ordinate all operations, with the associated threats to security and transportation of 50,000 concert goers, in only one week. The funds raised from the event went to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund, which was set up to support the victims and families affected by the terror attack at the Ariana Grande concert on 22nd May. Gaudio agreed that these events teams were well-deserving of their awards and was proud to supply the awards to help celebrate their charitable efforts.

Even more recently, on a much smaller scale, Gaudio had the opportunity to produce the Ykids Believe Awards for a small charity based in Bootle, Merseyside, which focuses on improving the life chances and opportunities for children and families in this extremely deprived area. Obviously, as a charity, budget for these awards was quite limited, but Gaudio worked closely with the event organisers to create something within budget that really captured what they wanted to achieve.
