RHS Chatsworth Flower Show

Gaudio was excited to have been given the opportunity to design the awards for the brand new RHS Chatsworth Flower Show. The event takes place over several days in the first week of June, and celebrates innovative design and creativity in the world of horticulture. RHS Chatsworth is the newest event in the RHS’ suite of twelve annual flower shows and events. The theme of the event was ‘Design Revolutionaries’, celebrating creative people who have changed how we think of gardens and garden design through their foresight and innovation.

As the RHS Chatsworth Flower Show is brand new, the brief was to produce an award that was very different and unusual. Previous shows have always used traditional glass trophies, but with the brand-new style and content of the Chatsworth Show, they were looking for something new and innovative that reflected the ‘Design Revolutionaries’ theme of the event. The show also takes inspiration from the landscape of Chatsworth House, and the Peak District where the event is located.

The eleven trophies are very angular, using squares and triangles to make up the shape, which reflects the cragginess of the Peak District. The awards are profiled from aluminium and printed in full colour, using the event branding with an image of Chatsworth House in the background. The profiled aluminium shape is set on a triangular polished aluminium base, which is finished with a layer of RHS green acrylic to the bottom. These awards are unique and unlike anything Gaudio has made before, which is exactly what the RHS wanted, to reflect the new, innovative and creative Chatsworth event.
