National Restaurant Awards

The Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards have just taken place for the tenth year at The Hurlingham Club in London. The event celebrates the best chefs, restaurants and front of house staff in the UK’s vibrant independent restaurant scene. On the night, the 100 best restaurants in the UK were revealed. Restaurants can’t actually enter themselves for the National Restaurant Awards – rather they are voted for by a panel of chefs, restauranteurs, food writers and critics. The academy of judges casts seven votes each based on their best restaurant experiences over the past twelve months, listing their votes in order of preference, and the results are collated by Restaurant magazine. The event is the largest annual gathering of top chefs and restauranteurs in the UK, with more than 90 of the UK’s top 100 restaurants represented at the event in 2016.

Gaudio has been honoured to produce the National Restaurant Awards for the past five years. The awards are redesigned every year to reflect the current year’s branding, but follow a similar design of a brushed aluminium circle, levelled off at the base, and fronted with acrylic. This year, a large star was cut out of the award and inset with clear acrylic so the blue acrylic of the front could be seen through it, reflecting the star of the Estrella Damm logo. The front of the award was printed with the category, winner, and sponsors’ details underneath the event branding.
