Construction News Awards

The Construction News Awards have recently taken place for the 21st time in a glittering awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel. The Construction News Awards is the largest awards programme in the construction industry with over 1,400 guests attending on the night. With a judging panel of more than fifty highly-experienced, senior figures within the construction industry, the winners and finalists are always at the cutting edge of UK construction.

There were eighteen categories available to enter, including, ‘Company Innovation of the Year,’ ‘Sustainable Project of the Year,’ ‘Training Excellence,’ and ‘Contractor of the Year,’ amongst others. Three categories were non-enterable, including the ‘Judges’ Supreme Award,’ ‘Roll of Honour,’ and ‘Client of the Year,’ which was made by nomination.

Gaudio has been proudly manufacturing the Construction News Awards for four years. This year has seen a redesign of the award to one which is truly unique and eye-catching. A perfect representation of the event logo, the polished aluminium trophy appears to have physics-defying, floating aluminium bars at the top, due to the clever use of clear acrylic sandwiched in the middle of the award to mount them on. The polished aluminium and acrylic combination is mounted on a polished aluminium base, which is engraved with the event branding, category, winner and sponsors’ details.

Gaudio’s design team loved designing this award as the event branding is so strong, and the chosen design was so unusual and unique. This particular trophy really exemplifies how the clever combination of different materials can give such a fabulous and striking effect, which is the true beauty of bespoke award design.
