Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has been crowned “Legend of Football” after receiving his Gaudio designed Football Extravaganza award. The former Chelsea manager was presented with his award at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London by former winner Alan Shearer.
Now in it’s 16th year, it has become the longest running annual charity football event, and has raised over £5m for Nordoff Robbins. Jose said upon receiving his award:
“Some great people from English football and also some friends have won this award, but the most important thing is what you can do for the kids and of course I am proud that I will go home with a really beautiful award to remember my time in England but more important than that is to go with the notion that I did something for the kids.”
Previous winners include Sir Bobby Robson, Kenny Dalglish, Sir Bobby Charlton, Sir Alex Ferguson, Harry Redknapp, Alan Shearer and Eric Cantona.
