Young Professionals Green Energy Awards

The Young Professionals Green Energy Awards took place on the 25th May and was sponsored by ScottishPower Renewables. The increase in renewable energy in Scotland is one of its proudest economic and environmental success stories, and the Young Professionals Green Energy Awards brought the industry together to recognise and reward the young professionals driving the industry’s future evolution. The ceremony rewards those who are pioneering new ideas in the development of renewable energy, driving to evolve the industry for the better.

Nine categories were awarded at the event, including the ‘Achiever Award,’ ‘Professional Award,’ ‘Innovator Award’ and the ‘Judges Award’ for the entry that the judges felt deserved special commendation. The winners of each category will all go forward to compete for the ‘Rising Star’ award at the associated Scottish Green Energy Awards, which take place later this year.

Gaudio was chosen to manufacture the Young Professionals Green Energy Awards for the third year. The brief was to produce awards which reflected the natural/rustic theme of the event, and the team behind the awards particularly liked the idea of sustainable awards. The selected design was a square wooden tablet, which fit their desire for a sustainable award reflecting the event theme. The front of the tablet was printed and the event logo, cut out of luminous green acrylic and printed, was fixed to the front. The winners’ details and award category were printed in the centre of the cut-out star shaped logo, while the sponsors’ details were engraved on the back of the award. The combination of natural wood and acrylic gave a really striking effect, which was completely consistent with the event theme.
