Creative Review Annual Award

The Creative Review Annual award is given out to nine ‘Best in Book’ winners at the launch party of the Creative Review Annual. The Annual is Creative Review’s showcase of the best creative work of the year, and the projects deemed to be of special merit by their judges are recognised in the ‘Best in Book’ section.

Gaudio was very excited to have been given the opportunity to redesign the Creative Review Annual award this year. The brief was to produce a large wire-framed ‘A’ on a base, but it wasn’t possible to produce this within budget so the design team had to come up with other interpretations of the brief. Three initial concepts were produced and two were selected to be made into a prototype.

The award which was chosen to be manufactured was unlike anything Gaudio has ever produced before, and gave a really unusual and striking visual effect. The large ‘A’ was made out of three layers of transparent acrylic, edged with black acrylic. The three layers of acrylic were mounted offset to each other on a polished aluminium base giving the effect of a floating, three-dimensional ‘A’ with the black outline looking like the wire frame the client initially wanted.

Gaudio’s design team loved designing this award as it is so totally different from anything we have done before, and it really captured the essence of the creative event it was designed for. The beauty of ordering bespoke awards means that the client is able to get an award that really epitomises their event, capturing the company & event branding and ethos, while meaning that the awards are completely unique to that event.
